In the first place, the competition required the participating students to write in accordance with the Hengshui style norms in that the letters, words and sentences should be written neatly and correctly, with proper punctuation marks and reasonable word spacing. Also, the overall page should be clean, neat and aesthetically pleasing. Thus, during the competition, students sat upright and their expressions were concentrated. What’s more, students wrote with great care, one stroke at a time, each letter and each word, demonstrating an extremely high degree of concentration and patience.

In the second place, after the fierce competition and meticulous selection by the judges, a number of outstanding English calligraphy works stood out. In fact, not only were these works well-written and with smooth handwriting, but also presented a neat appearance, which was pleasing to the eye. Later on, Anqing Foreign Language School presented certificates to the winning students to recognize their outstanding performance in English writing. Also, incredible calligraphy works were on display in the school foyer, inspiring more students to take them as role models and improve their English writing skills.

Last but not the least, not only did this English Hengshui-style handwriting competition provide a platform for students to showcase themselves and communicate with each other in terms of learning, but also further stimulated students' interest and enthusiasm in learning English. More noticeably, the competition enabled students to have a deeper understanding of the significance of English writing, which would help them pay more attention to the standardization of writing in their future studies and strive to enhance their writing skills.

In a nutshell, in the future, the English Group in the 7th grade will continue to innovate the activity forms and help students reinforce their core competencies.
